On April 27, NSML put out a release criticizing the one-year suspension of University of Nevada, Las Vegas basketball player Matt Shaw for a single positive marijuana test.
Our Sarah Palin action generated national attention in the days following the event. First, Keith Olbermann mentioned us on his show on MSNBC. The next day, on the O’Reilly Factor on Fox News Channel, Laura Ingraham cited our campaign and the offer to Sarah Palin as part of her introduction before an interview with the Marijuana Policy Project’s Steve Fox
On Tuesday, April 6, NSML held a press conference to make an offer to former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who was in Las Vegas to address an alcohol industry convention. We offered her $25,000 if she would address our supporters and endorse the establishment of a legal marijuana market in this country.
