Will Nevada’s legislators show the same leadership on ending failed marijuana laws?

Today, in a 4 to 3 vote, the California Assembly’s Public Safety Committee passed A.B. 390, legislation that would tax and regulate marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol. This is the first time in U.S. history that a state legislature has ever passed—or even considered—a proposal to make marijuana legal, taxed, and regulated.

Yesterday, Nevadans for Sensible Marijuana Laws officially filed with the NV Secretary of State and made news statewide. We are excited to be moving forward and having rational discussions about why it makes sense to change our current marijuana laws. As you can see on our video section, some people just don’t get that we are working to make our communities safer by regulating marijuana. With your help, we will make 2010 the year that ushers in Sensible Marijuana Laws.
